Interior Painting
Our Process Makes the Difference!
Many customers are surprised to learn that the preparation of the rooms often takes longer than the actual painting. Done correctly, a well prepared room will look flawless after it is painted. It is our expert preparation process that sets us apart from our competitors - and what keeps our customers coming back year after year.
Room Preparation
We arrive promptly at 8:00 AM on the scheduled date to start the preparation work. We begin by moving your furniture to the center of the room and we remove any art work or wall-hangings from the walls. We then cover all of your furniture with lightweight plastic. Once your furniture is securely protected, we cover your floors with heavy canvas drop cloths.
Paint Preparation
All cracks are dug out and repaired using fiberglass mesh tape, nail pops are pounded in, and all patchwork is completed using Durabond patching compound. We caulk using Dap 25 year silicone enhanced caulk where there are any cracks between the woodwork and the walls. If there are any water stains, we spot prime those areas using oil based primer to prevent the stain from bleeding through the finish coat of paint. If the trim is stained wood, we apply 3M's blue tape to protect it from overspray while rolling the walls. Next, we sand our patches smooth - and that completes the preparation phase of the project.
Painting
Finally, we can begin applying the finish coat. We start with the ceiling, followed by the trim. After the ceiling and trim have had a chance to dry, we paint the walls. Unless the color is staying the same, we always use two coats of the finish color. No job is complete until the clean-up is done. Clean-up consists of sweeping or vacuuming, and preparing garbage such as paint cans, etc. for easy disposal. It is our goal to leave your home as neat and clean as, or cleaner than, we found it.
